1. Description
ER316 is a 19% Cr / 12% Ni / 2.5% Mo austenitic stainless steel welding wire designed for GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) processes. The addition of molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments, as well as resistance to phosphoric and sulfurous acids.
2. Applications
-
Welding matching 316 and 316L base metals, as well as 300-series stainless steels.
-
Fabrication of chemical processing equipment, marine hardware, textile machinery, paper industry equipment, and pharmaceutical vessels.
-
High-temperature and corrosive environment structural components.
